Well my friends, yesterday I went to the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, and it was very cool. They explain the history of the storehouse, how they produce the beer... did you know that they are using the same yeast they used in 1700??? very curious. Apparently, they have a bit kept in a safe, and with that yeast, they produce more, so the guinness you can drink now tastes exactly the same as it did 200 years ago!! very curious, for sure.
This is the storehouse map, and if you pay attention, you can see that it has the same shape as a pint. I think they have taken everything into account, I like it.
Well, and in the final part of the visit, they invite you to drink a Pint... or to craft it by yourself!!
They taught me to pour a Pint of Guinness... and the thing is it has its technique.
The first thing you have to know is that the glass of Pint has to be cold but dry, and the beer has to be at 9ºC. Once you know it, you have to hold the glass with a 45º angle to the beer and you fill it until it reaches to the word Guinness in the glass. In this moment, you hold the glass vertically until it reaches half of the harp of the glass.
In this moment, we have to leave the pint to settle for two minutes.
As you can see, it is a a good looking Pint, in fact, the give you a certificate saying that you have crafted the Perfect Pint of Guinness. Of course, you can drink your pint taking your time...
My Pint looks quite good, doesn't it?
I strongly recommend you to go there, it is worth seeing, you'll like it for sure!! and the Pint too, hehehe.
By the way, did you know that the Guinness Records existed because Arthur Guinness (the Guinness Beer founder) asked himself, while he was shooting, which one was the quickest bird flying on earth??? from that point on, he began to collect information about "the most", "the quickest", "the biggest" and so on...
